Team Info
Winter Training
After the playing season has ended, players can be selected for Men’s Senior Winter Training.
The Winter Training Squad, consisting of up to 20 players, will benefit from several ‘away days’ during the winter and other experiences that the County will provide. The overall aim of Performance Winter Training is to improve upon the already considerable abilities of the high-performance players and assist them towards excelling in national amateur golf while representing Middlesex.
As well as providing a fun social atmosphere, the Winter Training gives the Team Managers the opportunity to monitor all potential players and see who is performing well and improving before a decision is made about which players should go into the Men’s Senior Team in the spring. The selection criteria for Winter Training squad are:
- The player must be over 55
- The player must have their Home Club in Middlesex
- The player’s WAGR Ranking
- The player’s performances in National events (English amateur Championship, etc.)
- The player’s performances in County events (Men’s County Championship, etc)
- Typically, a Handicap Index of 4.5 or better
A more detailed Selection Criteria Document can be viewed HERE.

South Eastern Group
The Seniors League. Our annual opponents are BB&O, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. There are four league matches each year (two home and two away) and the format is a ten-man team competition over 18 holes in singles scratch matchplay.
The SEG Six-Man Qualifier. A 36-hole Strokeplay event held over two days. A six-man team will compete against the ten other counties of the South East Group. The winning County (with the lowest aggregate 5 best scores) represents our region in the English County Finals which is probably the most prestigious competition for County players and counties alike to be involved in.
The SEG foursomes Qualifier. A four-county foursomes matchplay tournament over one day, against Kent, Essex and Hertfordshire. The winners of this also go on to further regional and national events.
All fixtures run from May to October each year and details of the 2021 matches can be found on this website. All matches are played off scratch.
